The Wall Street Journal: Tim Kaine tries to win over skeptics at DNC

Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia was set to accept the Democratic vice presidential nomination Wednesday night, introducing himself to a national audience as well as liberal colleagues within his own party who are skeptical about his centrist record on economic issues.

The speech was to come on the third night of a Democratic convention that has moved steadily from a scene of raucous division to a display of party unity and enthusiasm for its presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. The senator, who sits on the Committees on Foreign Relations and Armed Services, was due to speak during an evening program spotlighting Clinton’s skills and experience as a world leader.
