Moneyism: Young adults are most likely to accept help from mom and dad for this

I was eight months out of college and feeling pretty good about myself when first confronted with the reality that I perhaps wasn’t as much of an adult as I thought.

I had recently moved to New York City for a journalism job I felt lucky to get in the wake of the Great Recession that left many of my fellow recent college graduates underemployed and still living at home. Somehow, I was managing to pay my rent and afford to eat on my very entry-level salary. I also apparently could afford to enjoy a few (heavily discounted) postwork drinks with my new colleagues in a dark dive bar.
