Currencies: Dollar sits tight ahead of U.S. jobs data

The dollar remained flat against the yen and the euro during range-bound Asian trade on Friday, with investors sitting on the sidelines ahead of the U.S. jobs report later in the day.

The U.S. dollar USDJPY, -0.11% was changing hands at ¥101.12, compared with ¥101.22 late Thursday in New York. The euro EURUSD, +0.0629% was at $1.1136 midday from $1.1130.

The WSJ Dollar Index BUXX, -0.14% a measure of the dollar against a basket of major currencies, was down 0.11% at 86.47.

Earlier in the morning, flow-driven trade linked to commercial settlement by Japanese corporate players caused moderate ups and downs in the dollar against the yen.
