London Markets: FTSE 100 struggles to keep the winning streak alive

The U.K. stocks’ chances of continuing a string of wins was in the balance early Friday, as the country’s benchmark index struggled to move forward after week of gains.

The FTSE 100 UKX, +0.07% traded flat in early action at 6,913.42. The London benchmark closed up 0.7% higher to 6,914.71 on Thursday, for its sixth winning session and the longest winning streak since Oct. 9, 2015. Week to date, the FTSE 100 is up 1.7%

A global market rally could stall out in Europe, as stocks in the U.K. and across Europe traded flat after a strong week of gains.
