Paul McCartney inks new recording deal with Capitol Records

Paul McCartney is headed to Capitol Records as he works on his next studio album.

Capitol Music Group, owned by Universal Music Group through Paris-based company Vivendi VIV, -1.01% said on Wednesday it signed McCartney to a worldwide recording agreement. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, nor were the details on McCartney’s coming album.

Along with a new McCartney album, currently in the works, Capitol Records will get its hands on his entire catalogue of post-Beatles work — spanning six decades, 21 Grammy’s and more than 500 million records sold worldwide.

It’s a homecoming of sorts for McCartney, whose first U.S.
