Your Digital Self: This breakthrough in ‘blue energy’ could change the world

Some time ago, I wrote about Chinese and Russian floating nuclear power plants, an idea that alarmed readers.

Still, one thing is certain: We need more sources of energy. We may be producing more power-efficient machines, but their number is also increasing, which means global energy consumption per capita has been growing steadily.

If we keep it up, we’ll either exhaust finite sources of energy, like oil, coal and biofuels, or we’ll hit the energy ceiling. This means that, at some point, we won’t be able to produce enough energy to cover our growing needs.

Thankfully, there is a third possibility: an alternative source of energy.
