The Wall Street Journal: Donald Trump says he’s ‘not flip flopping’ on immigration

Despite signs that Donald Trump may be softening his rhetoric on the issue that catapulted him to political prominence — cracking down on illegal immigrants — the Republican presidential nominee said Monday that he wasn’t waffling and reiterated his commitment to strict anti-immigration measures.

“I’m not flip flopping,” Trump said Monday in a Fox News interview, one day after his new campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, said that Trump’s stance on deporting the nation’s 11 million illegal immigrants, long a central element of his policy platform, was “to be determined.’’
