Capitol Report: Trump Tower rent raised for campaign after donors footed bill | Clinton defends health

Suddenly pricier: the Trump Tower.

Once donors started subsidizing Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, the rent at Trump Tower suddenly went up.

That’s according to a story in the Huffington Post, which sourced Federal Election Commission filings. The report said the Trump campaign paid Trump Tower Commercial LLC $169,758 in July, compared with $35,458 in March, despite having fewer paid employees and consultants. The report said it’s not clear how many of those employees and consultants worked at Trump Tower, but it’s typically only a fraction of the campaign’s staff. Prior to May, three-quarters of the $59 million spent by Trump’s campaign had come out of his own pocket, the report said.
