There may still be time to refinance.

Rates for home loans were unchanged near long-time lows, mortgage giant Freddie Mac said Thursday.

The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 3.43% in the August 25 week, the same as last week. The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 2.74%, also unchanged.

The 5-year Treasury-indexed hybrid adjustable-rate mortgage averaged 2.75%, up one basis point during the week.

It was the ninth week in a row in which the benchmark 30-year fixed-rate mortgage average held below the 3.50% threshold, Freddie noted in a release. The last time that happened was late 2012 into the first few weeks of 2013.
