Americans will be firing up the grill this Labor Day, a market holiday

If a U.S. investor happens to check on their portfolio on Monday, Sept. 5, it may take them a moment to realize that it isn’t just another quiet day in the market, where both moves and volumes have been slight recently, but a day off.

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, U.S. financial markets will be closed on Monday, though markets in both Europe and Asia will be open for business.
