One lesson from Wells Fargo scandal: Check your statements

When the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau announced this week that it was fining the bank Wells Fargo & Co. WFC, -0.37% $185 million for illegal sales practices, many of the bank’s 40 million retail customers were left wondering what to do next.

Wells Fargo will gladly show you a screen of your accounts to verify that you were not screwed. That did nothing for me. #WellsFargoCrooks
