The Wall Street Journal: ACC pulls championship games from North Carolina, citing bathroom law

The Atlantic Coast Conference will move neutral-site championship games out of North Carolina through this spring in response to the state’s bathroom law, a move that will require finding a new location for its high-profile football championship in December.

The decision by the Greensboro, N.C.-based conference follows a similar move by the National Collegiate Athletic Association earlier this week.

North Carolina’s six-month-old state law, known as House Bill 2, requires individuals to use the public restroom corresponding to the sex on their birth certificates, which lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender advocates have protested.
