MarketWatch First Take: Why Trumponomics won’t work, and Clintonomics could be even worse

Let’s not quibble with the minutiae of Donald Trump’s latest attempt to make his numbers work. The bigger issue is that his tax-and-spending ideas don’t add up.

The plan, rolled out Thursday, revolves around reducing taxes, cutting spending and streamlining regulation. All standard Republican fare.

To put his target in perspective, last year the U.S. grew 2.6% (meh) and generated 2.89 million new jobs (great).
