The Fed: If Fed does tighten, it may be because of Boston Fed’s Eric Rosengren

When doves at the Federal Reserve face off across the table from the hawks next week over whether the U.S. central bank should raise interest rates, staring at them will be one who used to be in their camp, Boston Fed President Eric Rosengren.

Rosengren has made it “crystal clear” that he wants the central bank to hike rates, said Rob Martin, an economist at Barclays.

Analysts said it was hard to gauge whether Rosengren could shift the center of gravity at the central bank in favor of a rate hike as soon as Sept.
