Asia Markets: Asian shares rattled by concerns over oil, Deutsche Bank

Asian shares traded lower Friday as enthusiasm over possible production curbs by major oil producers receded and worries over Deutsche Bank’s troubles rattled financial stocks.

The Nikkei Stock Average NIK, -1.46% was lower by 1.4% with Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 XJO, -0.53% was down 0.5%. Korea’s Kospi SEU, -1.22% was lower by 0.9% as well. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index HSI, -1.49% fell 1.3% and the Shanghai Composite SHCOMP, +0.26% was 0.2% higher.

Oil prices were down in early Asian trade as doubts grew about a plan to limit production among members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries.
