Michael Sincere’s Long-Term Trader: Be on guard for an ‘October surprise’ that sinks stocks

Although the market has bounced in both directions during the last few weeks, we’re now right back where we started. Unfortunately, the technical indicators are overwhelmingly neutral, which doesn’t tell us which way the financial winds are blowing.

Even the sentiment indicators aren’t saying much with the exception of the CBOE Volatility Index VIX, +1.81% , which is still in the danger zone. What should a trader do?
