Market Snapshot: U.S. stocks sag after tepid September jobs report

Wall Street stocks were set to open slightly lower on Friday, as investors held back from big bets ahead of jobs data that could help decide whether the Federal Reserve hikes interest rates later this year.

Currencies were also in the spotlight after the British pound crashed to a fresh 31-year low in a matter of minutes, in Asian trading hours.

S&P 500 index futures ESZ6, -0.32% slipped 4.25 points, or 0.2%, to 2,152.20, while Dow industrials futures YMZ6, -0.24% fell 27 points, or 0.1%, to 18,172. Nasdaq-100 futures NQZ6, -0.32% dropped 9.5 points, or 0.2%, to 4,862.50.
