Market Snapshot: Wall Street stocks set for losses as oil retreats

U.S. stock futures pointed to moderate opening losses on Tuesday, coming under some pressure as investors cashed in on recent gains for oil prices.

Earnings were in the spotlight, with the unofficial start of the reporting season due to kick off with Alcoa Inc. later.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures YMZ6, -0.13% dropped 23 points, or 0.1%, to 18,237, while S&P 500 futures ESZ6, -0.21% slipped 4.1 points, or 0.2%, to 2,154.75. Nasdaq-100 NQZ6, -0.03% fell 12.5 points, or 0.3%, to 4,881.

U.S. stocks closed higher on Monday as higher oil prices drove gains for major energy companies.
