The Scottrade Center will renamed the TD Ameritrade Center.

TD Ameritrade’s planned purchase of Scottrade means more than consolidation in the online brokerage space — it also spells yet another name change for a major sports arena.

Scottrade’s founder and CEO, Rodger Riney, told the hometown St. Louis Post-Dispatch Monday that the Scottrade Center, currently home to the St. Louis Blues hockey team, will be renamed the TD Ameritrade Center.

That joins a legion of arenas and stadiums impacted by mergers and acquisitions. A MarketWatch review finds at least 11 that were renamed to reflect mergers-and-acquisitions activity.
