Math lovers everywhere must love Alphabet Inc.

The Google parent company announced its second stock repurchase Thursday evening, and the total was odd: $7,019,340,976.83. Observant Alphabet GOOG, +0.00%GOOGL, +0.27% watchers were not surprised because the web giant’s first buyback program, announced last year, was for $5,099,019,513.59, which reflected the square root of 26, which happens to be the number of letters in the alphabet.
