Trump tells Democratic-leaning states Clinton would worsen D.C. gridlock

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is sharpening his case against Democrat Hillary Clinton and laying down stakes in Democratic-leaning states as renewed scrutiny of her emails buoys his campaign in the homestretch of the 2016 race.

Trump has moved beyond bashing Clinton as corrupt to arguing that the new evidence uncovered by the FBI related to the former secretary of state’s private email server will worsen Washington gridlock.

“Nothing is going to get done,” he said in a visit to one of the most culturally conservative parts of this state. “Our country will continue to suffer.
