Currencies: Dollar flattens out as investors look ahead to Fed, ECB meetings

The dollar was almost flat on Wednesday, with investors reluctant to take positions ahead of policy-setting meetings of U.S. and European central banks later this month.

Meanwhile, the Australian dollar fell as weak gross domestic product data disappointed investors.

The greenback USDJPY, +0.18% was changing hands at ¥114.27, compared with ¥114.01 late Tuesday in New York. The WSJ Dollar Index BUXX, +0.06% , a measure of the U.S. dollar against a basket of major currencies, was up 0.10% at 91.23. The euro EURUSD, +0.0746% was slightly higher at $1.0719 from $1.0716 late Tuesday.
