ETF Investing: Israel ETFs unfazed by Kerry speech on settlements

The small group of exchange-traded funds that track the Israeli equity market were little changed on Wednesday, as Secretary of State John Kerry gave a forceful defense of the Obama administration’s approach to the country.

The iShares MSCI Israel Capped ETF EIS, -0.33% the largest Israel ETF, with $95 million in assets, was unchanged at $46.29. The VanEck Vectors Israel ETF ISRA, -0.51% fell 0.4% on the day.

Trading was light on both funds, as is typical for the final trading week of the year. About 4,000 shares exchanged hands on the iShares fund, well below its 30-day average of nearly 33,300 shares.
