Europe Markets: European stocks wobble around 1-year high as euro climbs after Fed minutes

European stock markets seesawed between gains and losses on Thursday, with traders taking a cautious approach as they digested minutes from the U.S. Federal Reserve’s December meeting.

The Stoxx Europe 600 index SXXP, -0.06% inched 0.1% higher to 365.50, putting it within touching distance of its one-year closing high of 365.71 hit on Tuesday.

The pan-European benchmark has rallied around 7% in the past month on expectations economic growth and inflation will pick up in the coming year. The region’s stock markets have also gotten a boost from hopes that U.S. president-elect Donald Trump’s fiscal spending plans will benefit European companies.
