Russia may hold compromising information on Trump, CNN reports

Russian intelligence may have compromising information on President-elect Donald Trump that could be used to blackmail him, CNN reported Tuesday.

CNN said its report was based on a two-page U.S. intelligence synopsis that was shared last week with President Barack Obama, legislative leaders and Trump himself, although those details were held back from the unclassified public briefing. The classified synopsis was reportedly an addendum to an investigation into claims of Russian meddling with the presidential election.

The synopsis also claimed Trump campaign surrogates had communicated with the Russian government during the presidential campaign. The explosive claims are unproven, CNN noted, and it said the FBI is still investigating their accuracy.
