Want to be a more productive person? Use a pen and paper

Krista Ray, a 22-year-old theater producer based in New York City, used to keep all of her to-do lists and schedules in one place: Google calendar. But last summer she found a better system to keep her life, finances and events in order — and it doesn’t involve technology or apps, but just a simple pen and paper.

Ray is now an avid proponent of the “Bullet Journal,” which basically takes the old-school to-do list to the next level by suggesting ways to write down and track your daily, weekly and monthly goals and achievements. The term was coined by Ryder Carroll, a digital product designer based in New York City who has since copyrighted the invention, known as BuJo for short.
