On Obamacare, President Trump told Republicans ‘let it explode’

Days into his presidency, Donald Trump is still using the same campaign lines about the Affordable Care Act.

Asked about his plan to replace the sweeping health care law, Trump continued to slam it in hyperbolic language during an interview with ABC News, but provided little detail about how he’d take care of the 18 million people who stand to lose coverage under a repeal.

Trump said he initially told Republicans that “the best thing we could do is nothing for two years, let it explode.”

“That’s the thing to do,” he said. “But the right thing to do is to get something done now.
