Donald Trump responded to the ruling via Twitter.

A U.S. federal judge temporarily blocked President Donald Trump’s travel ban on refugees and immigrants.

U.S. District Judge James Robart said late Friday that his ruling applied nationwide, adding that states did not have the capacity to challenge the decision. The White House, however, has vowed to overturn the ruling.

“At the earliest possible time, the Department of Justice intends to file an emergency stay of this order and defend the executive order of the President, which we believe is lawful and appropriate,” White House press secretary Sean Spicer said in a statement.
