Currencies: Dollar stays weak after post-jobs slide late last week

The dollar was flat on Monday, after sliding over the weekend following mixed signals from the U.S. January jobs report.

The U.S. dollar USDJPY, -0.08% was changing hands at ¥112.55, compared with ¥112.57 late Friday in New York. The euro EURUSD, -0.4636% was a tad lower at $1.0776 in midday Asian trade from $1.0785.

The WSJ Dollar Index BUXX, +0.15% , a measure of the U.S. dollar against a basket of major currencies, was up 0.11% at 90.46.

The dollar stayed weak in Asian trade on Monday following Friday’s slide after news of strong hiring but slow wage growth from the closely watched U.S.
