Market Snapshot: U.S. stock futures edge higher, but Michael Kors dives after earnings

U.S. stock futures on Tuesday pointed to a small step higher at the open, which would put the equity market on track for another range-bound session.

Investors were set to focus on earnings, with reports from GM, Twenty-First Century Fox and other big names due to get attention.

S&P 500 futures ESH7, +0.14% inched higher by 4 points, or 0.2%, to 2,290.50, while Dow Jones Industrial Average futures YMH7, +0.20% tacked on 42 points, or 0.2%, to 20,014. Nasdaq-100 futures NQH7, +0.16% added 9 points, or 0.2%, to 5,166.75.

On Monday, the S&P 500 SPX, -0.21%finished 0.2% lower, while the Dow DJIA, -0.09% and Nasdaq Composite COMP, -0.06% both dipped by 0.1%.
