The Wall Street Journal: Andy Puzder withdraws as Labor secretary nominee

Andy Puzder, the fast-food executive President Donald Trump tapped to lead the Labor Department, has withdrawn from consideration for the post, according to a statement he issued.

I am withdrawing my nomination for Secretary of Labor. I’m honored to have been considered and am grateful to all who have supported me.

Puzder is the highest profile of Trump’s cabinet nominees to remove himself from consideration. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos was approved only with the help of a tiebreaking vote from Vice President Mike Pence.
