Barstool Sports, scrappy digital news outlet, has prime time ambitions

Barstool Sports, the satirical and irreverent sports, news and men’s lifestyle blog that commands a loyal following, is broadening its horizons.

Barstool’s devoted fans, known as Stoolies, have taken up its war against NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and defended the site from claims of misogyny, racism and general vulgarity. They love Barstool and its voice and have helped it build a solid online audience since it was first created in 2004.

Recently appointed Chief Executive Erika Nardini says the company will never veer from that voice; that, after all, is what has propelled it this far. But she is also focused on introducing Barstool to a wider audience.
