The U.S. stock market continues to power higher. But while the Dow Jones Industrial Average remains comfortably above 20,000 and near new all-time highs, there is a chorus of investors worried that the other shoe is about to drop.

Maybe it will be because of the Federal Reserve tightening too much and too soon and shaking up the market. The CBOE Volatility Index, or the VIX, saw a 20% spike in just two days around congressional testimony by Fed Chairwoman Janet Yellen last week.
