Market Snapshot: Dow poised to snap record-setting streak, as stock futures slump

U.S. stock-index futures pointed to a lower open on Friday, suggesting the Dow’s record-setting streak may be coming to an end as investors searched for reason to keep pushing shares higher following 10 straight positive sessions.

Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average YMH7, -0.38% slid 82 points, or 0.4%, to 20,715. The Dow’s DJIA, +0.17% gain on Thursday was its 10th in a row as well as its 10th straight record closing high—the longest such streak since 1987.

Futures for the S&P 500 ESH7, -0.47% fell 10.55 points, or 0.4%, to 2,352.50 on Friday, while those for the Nasdaq-100 NQH7, -0.59% lost 29 points, or 0.5%, to 5,303.
