As President Trump pushes “school choice” from the political trenches, in Friday’s case the halls of a Catholic grade school in Orlando, the how-to-fix-education debate got heated in Chicago, too. Grammy winner Chance the Rapper had a sit-down on Friday with Bruce Rauner, the Republican governor of Illinois, which perennially ranks at the bottom in the nation for its state public-education funding.

From that 30-minute meeting emerged a frustrated Chance over what he called “vague answers,” the Chicago Sun-Times reported. Even MTV News picked up on the exchange, tweeting for its some 5 million followers an eight-part tweet at Chance’s urging in an attempt to explain the complicated formula that challenges the nation’s fourth-largest school system.
