The Wall Street Journal: Scottish living standards at risk if country breaks from U.K., says May

Britain’s Prime Minister Theresa May, seeking to head off renewed calls for Scottish independence, is set Friday to warn Scots that leaving the U.K. would put their living standards at risk.

Just weeks before May formally triggers talks on Britain’s exit from the European Union, she will tell Scots she is confident of what the U.K. can achieve together in the future as a united country.

“Politics is not a game and the management of devolved public services in Scotland is too important to be neglected,” May will say in Glasgow, according to excerpts of the speech from the Conservative Party.
