The Wall Street Journal: Raphael Bostic said to be top candidate to lead Atlanta Fed

A former Obama administration housing official has emerged as a leading candidate to run the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, according to people familiar with the matter.

If he is appointed to the post, Raphael Bostic, a professor of public policy at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, would become the first African-American president of one of the Fed’s 12 regional banks.

Yellen Signals Raise in Short-Term Interest Rates


Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen spoke at the Executives’ Club of Chicago on Friday, where she signaled the central bank is likely to raise short-term interest rates at its March meeting.
