The Wall Street Journal: Pinterest buys Biz Stone’s startup Jelly

Twitter Inc. co-founder Biz Stone is headed to Pinterest Inc., the image-discovery company that is now valued by investors at the same amount as the short-messaging service he helped start a decade ago.

San Francisco-based Pinterest, located a mile away from Twitter, said Wednesday it acquired Stone’s small search-engine startup Jelly Industries.

Stone and Jelly’s chief technology officer, Ben Finkel, are slated to take jobs within Pinterest as part of the deal. Stone helped launch Twitter TWTR, +0.40% in 2006 along with Jack Dorsey, Ev Williams and Noah Glass. He left in 2011, and the next year joined with Williams to start publishing platform Medium Corp.
