The New York Post: New York City braces to get walloped by snowstorm

New York is bracing itself for a mighty nor’easter that’s set to slam New York City and surrounding suburbs on Tuesday, dropping at least a foot of snow.

Between 12 and 18 inches is expected to cover New York City, north and central New Jersey, Westchester County and Long Island, according to AccuWeather.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo activated the state’s Emergency Operations Center to be up and running Monday night with other state agencies on notice to send their people and equipment to deal with blizzard conditions.

“We are closely monitoring this storm as it develops and I am directing all state agencies to be on alert and ready to respond as the weather develops,” Cuomo said Sunday.
