Capitol Report: CEO confidence spikes higher in biggest move since escaping recession

Jamie Dimon says America’s CEOs are optimistic about the Trump administration’s pro-business approach.

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — Consumers and small-business owners are the most optimistic about the economy in years and evidently so are the captains of America’s largest companies.

The big question is, how long can the good feelings last if Washington gridlock sets in again?

The Business Roundtable on Tuesday said the outlook for the economy over the next six months posted its biggest increase since the end of 2009. Chief executives are excited about a Trump administration that’s pursuing the most pro-business policies in decades.

“I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to enact a meaningful pro-growth agenda that will benefit all Americans,” said Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase & Co.
