Earnings Outlook: Oracle earnings: further licensing declines expected as cloud transition continues

Oracle Corp. is expected to report a decline in profit as it continues to spend more on its transition to the cloud to offset weak licensing revenues. The company is scheduled to report fiscal third-quarter earnings after the market closes on Wednesday.

All eyes will be focused on whether the company’s licensing businesses has started to improve, after last quarter proved tough and licenses revenue fell 19%. MKM Partners expects a “more modest decline” of 16% this quarter.
