Unofficial adviser Ivanka Trump is getting a White House office

Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter, is getting an office in the White House and will have access to classified information, according to reports Tuesday.

The first daughter will not become an official employee or receive a salary, according to the Associated Press, but rather will continue to serve as an informal adviser to her father. She has already sat in a number of White House meetings since Donald Trump was inaugurated in January, including a meeting last week in which she sat next to German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

She will have an office in the West Wing, receive government-issued communications devices and is currently in the process of obtaining a security clearance.
