Market Extra: Here’s why financial markets are obsessed with the health-care vote

Investors and traders in stocks and other financial markets had focused this week on a take-it-or-leave-it House vote to repeal Obamacare, convinced its outcome would set at least the near-term direction for a variety of assets.

The answer was unclear after Republican leaders scrapped the vote at the last minute after failing to ensure enough votes for passage due to resistance by conservative and centrist members of their own party.
