‘Made in the USA’ was only No. 10 in this ranking of national labels

“Made in the USA” is usually a source of pride for many Americans. But it doesn’t carry as much cachet in several other countries.

America came in at just 10th place, tying with Japan and France on the index of trustworthiness around the world, according to a new “Made-In-Country” index released Tuesday from online statistics and market research website Statista. And No. 1? The label “Made in Germany” topped the list, followed by Switzerland at No. 2 and the European Union at No. 3. The “Made in the United Kingdom” label came in fourth place.

The site surveyed more than 43,000 customers worldwide to create a global ranking of best-trusted out of 52 countries for consumers.
