This U.S. state gives its residents the best bang for the buck on their tax dollars

Americans will pay their state governments billions in income tax by Tax Day, but that doesn’t mean local lawmakers will put the money to good use.

Residents of New Hampshire receive the best return on their tax “investments,” while residents of North Dakota receive the least, according to a report released Tuesday by WalletHub. New Hampshire ranked No. 2 in terms of taxes paid per capita, meaning its tax revenue per person was close to the smallest in the country, and it ranked No. 5 for overall government services.

In other words, New Hampshirites pay relatively little in taxes, but get a lot back in terms of the government services they receive.
