Capitol Report: Corporate inversion rules to be reviewed under Trump order, Mnuchin says

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin says tax reform and other major regulatory overhauls are coming.

Obama-era regulations on so-called corporate inversions are among the rules the Treasury Department will review and potentially alter, Secretary Steven Mnuchin indicated on Friday.

President Donald Trump on Friday afternoon will sign three documents designed to reduce tax and regulatory burdens, including a review of all major 2016 tax regulations. Mnuchin stressed the review will be comprehensive but said inversions will be “one of the significant things” the Treasury will be looking at.

Inversions involve U.S. firms that move their legal address abroad through mergers with foreign companies to cut their tax bill.
