The New York Post: Michael Bloomberg thinks he wouldn’t have made a good presidential candidate

Michael Bloomberg said he weighed running for president but decided after 12 years as New York City’s mayor voters knew how he stood on the issues and those positions weren’t endearing for a candidate.

“If I thought we could win, or had a reasonable chance, I would have done it. It would be totally unlikely, very unlikely that an independent could win. And in my case, I was mayor for a long time. People know where I stand. I couldn’t pretend to be something I’m not,” Bloomberg said during an interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes” airing Sunday.

The billionaire businessman who was a Democrat and Republican before finally becoming an independent said his beliefs would have turned off voters in both camps.
