The Wall Street Journal: Alexander Acosta confirmed as Trump’s labor secretary

The Senate confirmed Alexander Acosta as labor secretary Thursday, providing President Donald Trump with his full complement of cabinet secretaries before reaching his 100th day in office.

With Acosta in place, the last of 15 cabinet secretaries to gain confirmation, all major government departments are now led by the president’s picks rather than holdovers from the Obama administration or career bureaucrats. The only remaining vacant cabinet-level position is U.S. trade representative.

Acosta’s confirmation allows the Labor Department to reengage on several policies that have stalled since the president’s inauguration in January. Those include rules governing certain financial advisers and an expansion of overtime eligibility for workers.
