Trump says a ‘major, major conflict’ with North Korea is possible

President Donald Trump has said he may cancel a free-trade agreement with South Korea and that “a major, major conflict” with North Korea is possible.

In a wide-ranging interview with Reuters to mark his first 100 days in office, Trump said he hopes to solve the North Korean nuclear crisis through peaceful means, such as economic sanctions, but the chance for conflict remains.

“There is a chance that we could end up having a major, major conflict with North Korea. Absolutely,” Trump told Reuters in the interview on Thursday. “We’d love to solve things diplomatically but it’s very difficult.
