This might be the thing that finally convinces millennials to take cruises

More travelers than ever are booking cruises this summer, apparently ready to move past high profile disasters of years past and hit the high seas.

The number of visits to cruise websites has increased 32% year-over-year in the first quarter of 2017 and 98% since the beginning of 2014, a study from Adobe Digital Insights released this week found. This comes as a record number of passengers are expected to take cruises in 2017, according to Cruise Lines International Association. In 2017, 25.3 million are expected to cruise, up from 22.34 million in 2014 and 17.8 million in 2009.

The cruise industry previously took a hit after scandals like a fire on the Carnival Triumph in 2013 and the crash of the Costa Concordia off the coast of Italy in January 2012.
